Spritz is a new app that is supposed to make reading on small screens easier — I’m all for that, but I can’t quite wrap my head around how it’s supposed to work. Spritz is designed to keep your eyes on the same spot on your screen because the thinking behind it is if the most important part of each word is kept in one spot, readers will not lose time moving their eyes from word to word. Speed reading to the nth degree perhaps?
Here & Now has an example of how the app would work, and I have to admit, it’s dizzying. Do you think it would work? Or are we creatures of short attention spans that are in need of something like this?
