Daily Diaries: Renovations underway

I feel like a bit of an imposter adding this to the Daily Diaries, but I loved the idea when I found it and couldn’t resist adding something.

It’s been about a tense week because I’ve been moving servers and customising a new blog design AND doing renovation shopping.

kitchen tapThis week I went searching for a the kitchen sink and a tap and I feel like there should be a “everything but the kitchen sink” joke inserted here! It’s also disturbing how happy I am I got the tap I wanted for my kitchen.
There is so much to think about when it comes to things like that, but really it all comes down to money. I’ve been anxiously fielding phone calls from people about kitchen cupboards at work as well, and I seriously don’t want to be, but they can’t be avoided. Part of the tenseness has been about my manager pulling me aside and asking I cut down on phone calls, but he’s understood, mercifully.

The renovations – on both fronts – has been exciting and nerve-racking. I am on a steep learning curve on both. For my apartment renovation, it’s a case of what looks good isn’t necessarily going to work in the very small bathroom and kitchen I have, and on the blog front, sometimes it is just that – something that looks good can be good to write in.

It’s exciting thinking about a new place to move into — I have grand plans and ideas, and I know most of them can’t come to fruition — $$$ — but it’s fun thinking about!

Sounds exciting! Renovations are always a good way to give things a little tweak and make everything a little different

It is! Daunting and frustrating too! Am terribly excited to see the finished product — thus far, the bathroom’s started getting tiled, and my kitchen no longer looks like a kitchen, so I am learning the meaning of patience!
