Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
We’re pumping the air pressure in your chamber up to two atmospheres. Then we’ll see if you can answer the question next year. We don’t know how much pressure the human organism can stand, but we’re going to find out as time goes by.
From The Keeper of Lost Causes by Danish author, Jussi Adler-Olsen.
What started out as a twisty cold case suddenly became more … evil? With this passage. It sent a shiver up my spine, I kid you not. Took a break from reading after that, lol. I’m a wuss, what can I say!
Blurb: The #1 international bestseller from Jussi Adler-Olsen, author of The Absent One—perfect for fans of Stieg Larsson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Carl Mørck used to be one of Copenhagen’s best homicide detectives. Then a hail of bullets destroyed the lives of two fellow cops, and Carl—who didn’t draw his weapon—blames himself. So a promotion is the last thing he expects. But Department Q is a department of one, and Carl’s got only a stack of Copenhagen’s coldest cases for company. His colleagues snicker, but Carl may have the last laugh, because one file keeps nagging at him: a liberal politician vanished five years earlier and is presumed dead. But she isn’t dead … yet.
Darkly humorous, propulsive, and atmospheric, The Keeper of Lost Causes introduces American readers to the mega-bestselling series fast becoming an international sensation. (less)
Yikes, that doesn’t sound like such a good idea!
Happy New Year! I have a quote from a Grisham legal thriller this week:

I know!! This is such an unusual book — it’s a translation, so there’s a weirdly unusual balance of evil and very straightforward writing in other respects. It’s a bad explanation but it’s so compelling, lol
I think I’d have to be in the right mood to read this book. I’m a fraidy-cat and usually don’t enjoy stories that scare me. But the Teaser is intriguing.
My Tuesday post features LEARNIN’ THE ROPES.
I’m a fraidy-cat too! That’s why I stopped reading the chapter after that line and took a breather. But horror is the genre that I can’t read. TOo scared. Or watch.
I’m hooked and ready to read it! I love a dark thriller and you’ve caught my attention.
Here’s my TT – http://fuonlyknew.com/2015/01/06/teaser-tuesdays-94-awol/
It’s really good! It’s this balance of coldness/evil and intrigue and I’m hooked and afraid to turn the page at the same time.
That teaser is scary – I haven’t read anything by this author – another one that I need to check out
He’s so good, SO good! I hope you get a chance to check him out!
Sounds like a good thriller!
It is, it so is!
