The Snow White, Blood Red Anthology series is a series of five books, with some of the most acclaimed authors today who have reworked fairy tales and their happily-ever-after endings into something entirely different — darker, cunning and not for kids. I mean, authors include Neil Gaiman, Anne Bishop, Robin McKinley, and Patricia Briggs, so prepare for something entirely different to what you’re used to.
Black Swan, White Raven is the title I’m currently reading for a review and interview with Ellen Datlow, one of the editors later. Let’s just say the people on my daily commute have been treated to sudden gasps while I’m reading — which makes for some interesting reactions. Thankfully most are not nearly caffeinated enough to care and I can enjoy my book!
