Don’t Forget: is the best kind of reminder to enjoy the smallest things in life

What is this about?

This is the kind of book that reminds you of the smallest things in life, and reminds your young readers of the things in life that matter.

What else is this about?

It’s the kind of book that progressively made me smile wider as I read it.

Blurb

A timely and uplifting picture book for 5+, reflecting on what’s important for each of us to remember, from the creative team that brought us All Through the Year and Today We Have No Plans.

Don’t forget to make your bed,
and wear socks that fit your feet…
Don’t forget to care, to play,
To run, to laugh…

Sometimes, we need to remember all the things we can do to be part of the world. Small things, like offering a smile. And bigger things, like hoping, dreaming, imagining…

Don’t Forget is a gorgeous, gorgeous book filled with lovely, delicate illustrations and simple reminders for young readers not to forget to do things like making beds, and doing chores or even putting on a coat.

But in amongst the practical reminders, there are reminders not to forget to try new things, or to be brave and share and to care, and to play and most importantly, not to forget to remember the special times, or to hope.

The illustrations are filled with diverse kids, and a kid in a wheelchair — and all of them are enjoying the same things in life, and the same reminders — and it’s a beautiful thing to see.

I love this book, truly. It just made me smile, and remember the things in its pages for myself as well.
