As promised, I’m going to share some of my older reviews from Reading Time, the review site of The Children’s book Council of Australia. Like this gem!

Sarah’s mother is tired of finding odd socks in the laundry basket. Where do all the missing socks go? Sarah’s mother is pretty sure the puppy is responsible but Sarah knows better. And her mother simply mustn’t find out the truth! The Great Sock Secret is wonderfully fun adventure into an imaginative world that’s home to some very cool fairies. You’ll never look at your socks in the same way again!
Here’s the thing about The Great Sock Secret: it’s joyous. I don’t think I stopped smiling once I started reading.
The Great Sock Secret takes on one of the world’s deepest secrets: where do missing socks go? You know the feeling, when you’re looking for a matching pair and there’s only one of the pair to be found? Well, (spoiler) the Great Sock Secret is that fairies steal them!
We follow the utterly adorable Sarah as she trails her mum through the house trying to find all the mismatched socks. Sarah, of course, is in on the secret and valiantly tries to protect the socks and the fairies while distracting her mother as they use the socks as hammocks or have a sock race.
This very simple, funny story is brought to life with the accompanying illustrations. Rich in colour, the pages are filled with fairies going about their daily business with their pilfered socks, while Sarah distracts her mother. The pages hold different, funny sock activities that will prove a hit with kids. Sarah herself is a child of colour, something I, personally, can appreciate – illustrations that embrace diversity.
There is so much to discover within its pages, that reading this will, I promise, be a fun-filled experience for you and whoever you are reading it to.

This sounds so cute! I can definitely get on board with the idea that SOMETHING is stealing my socks!
Great cover! Also, we all want to know the answer to missing socks (and container lids).
This sounds like a great children’s book and I love the cover. And I can’t resist, in our house, Apollo steals them LONG before the washer and dryer get a chance to eat them!
