Can’t Wait Wednesday was once Waiting on Wednesday, but the purpose is the same: for bloggers to highlight what they’re waiting on. This week that is Glass Slippers, Ever After and Me
Can the fairy tale bring Charlotte the happiness she’s looking for, or was he always there to begin with?
A modern, reimagined Cinderella story.
When aspiring author Charlotte Kingsley finally gets published, she thinks all her dreams have come true. But the trouble begins when her publicity firm reinvents her quirky online presence into a perfectly curated dream life. Gone are the days of sweatpant posts and ice cream binges with her best friend, Anders, replaced instead with beautiful clothes, orchestrated selfies, and no boyfriend. Only, that carefully curated fairy tale life is ruining her self-esteem and making her feel like a fraud.
When a bestselling author takes Charlotte under her wing—almost like a fairy godmother—she helps Charlotte see the beautiful person she already is and the worth of being authentic. But is it too late to save her relationship with Anders? The clock is quickly ticking towards midnight, and Charlotte must decide between her fairy tale life and the man she loves, before he’s gone forever.
This might be the first Cinderella retelling I’ve seen. And I love every damn thing about it.
I LOVE Cinderella retellings! Can’t read enough of them. Gimme please! 😀
I can never imagine Cinderella as a retelling bc it’s THE fairytale for me, so I am curious about htis.
I can’t think of a Cinderella re-telling I have read, but being a fan of fairy tales and re-tellings, I’d be curious to see how this one plays out 🙂 Great find!
Me either — though Barb reminded me below of Cinder, which I tried to read, but didn’t get very far.
When I think of Cinderella retellings I think of Cinder. I can’t help it. This one sounds fun and I hope you love it. And the girly side of me really wants those shoes!
I tried to get into Cinder, but I couldn’t quite enjoy it. I’m hoping for better with this one — and haaa, aren’t they gorgeous?
I love the twist on the fairy tale! So clever. I’ve actually seen and read lots of Cinderella retellings, but I never get tired of them:-)

I love retellings, and this sounds like an interesting spin on the Cinderella tale.
It does — I just hope it holds up to how good the blurb sounds!
