WOW: Who Killed Sherlock Holmes?

Waiting on Wednesday- What are book bloggers looking forward to reading next-

Waiting on Wednesday is held over at Breaking the Spine, and it highlights the books bloggers are hanging out for. This week, my choice is: Who Killed Sherlock Holmes?

Who killed Sherlock Holmes Book Rec

Alright, how could I go past that title for one! And second, the blurb:

Someone has murdered the ghost of Sherlock Holmes. As a fictional character remembered by the people of London, Holmes’ ghost walked the city, and now someone has put a ceremonial dagger through his chest. What could be the motive? The small team of Metropolitan Police detectives who have The Sight find themselves pursuing a criminal genius who soon lures them into a Sherlockian maze of too many clues and too much evidence. Ross finds herself drawn to an actor who may or may not be a deity, and goes on a quest to win back her happiness. Lofhouse seeks the answers, finally, about why she brought the team together. Quill battles for his sanity. Costain battles for his soul. And Sefton just wants to bring his team back together, even if that takes him to the edge of death.

Holmes is a ghost! That got killed — see it gets more interesting the more you read. Paul Cornell has written for some amazing things — Dr Who, Elementary, Marvel and DC — so you know, high hopes!

What does give me pause, is that this is the third in the series though — and someone on the Goodreads page asked specifically if it’s best to read this or start from the beginning, and 1 out of 3 answers said you’d be good to start with this book. … can you see how hard I’m trying to convince myself I should just jump into this goodness??

What about you? Would you go straight into this book or go back to the beginning?

This one sounds very interesting! Personally, I’d go back to the beginning, though. I like reading series in order, even though at times it may not be essential I still prefer it, and this series in particular seems like it could be the best choice.
Either way, I hope you totally enjoy the read! 😀

Thanks for sharing, here’s my WoW!

I have no patience, Silvia! I see this goodness and I go I WANT I WANT and a little teeny tiny voice inside me is going: be patient, go back to the beginning! I have to figure out which one to listen to lol

I have considered picking up the first in this series for some time. While I think this one does sound somewhat more interesting, I am anal about having to read books in order so if I want to get to this one, I guess I better start putting the others on my TBR. Great choice though and that is one great cover!

    • Verushka says:

Oh, I am totally going to be hanging out for your reviews! If I decide to do read them in order, you’ll probably get to them before me! And IA, it’s a great ocover, isn’t it?

  • Priyanka says:

This sounds like it has potential. I’m a little weirded out at the thought that he was a ghost. But hey the premise is curious. Will definitely keep an out for it.

This sounds awesome! I like to read most series in order, but sometimes they really are so separate, it doesn’t matter.
