I finished The Little Paris Bookshop this week and felt for a second so lost without Jean and Max’s adventures to look forward to the next day. This is such a charming, joyous read that I miss them. I miss this bright spot in my day where I can dive into their adventures on the barge and enjoy them, even as this book deals with loss and tragedy and overcoming regrets.
This is a paragraph from the book where Jean and Max find themselves in a village and surrounded by orcs and all such cosplaying creatures — and having just gone to Oz Comic Con on the weekend, I had to appreciate seeing this acknowledgement of how fans of books express themselves.
