WOW: Future Shock by Elizabeth Briggs

Waiting on Wednesday

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week’s pre-publication “can’t-wait-to-read” selection is: Future Shock by Elizabeth Briggs

Unfortunately there isn’t a cover yet, but there is the most interesting blurb:

Wendy McClure of Albert Whitman has bought NA author Elizabeth Briggs’s first YA project: a science-fiction novel called Future Shock plus a sequel. In the books, a Latina teenager raised in Los Angeles’s foster care system with an eidetic memory is recruited by a tech company for a mission – a trip into the future. Publication is slated for March 2016; Kate Testerman of KT Literary brokered the deal for world English rights.

A Latina heroine? Time travel? YES, thank you, I’m there!

Oh, yes! I’m there too! 😀 Thanks for sharing.

    My WoW!

That is so weird. I’m currently reading about an Eastern-European adoptee, who has a photographic memory, found out her adoptive mother’s real background and sent to a mission -to the past! Which, coincindentally, is also my WoW this week. XD I’m going to check out this book.

    Thanks for stopping by!

Oh, what a GREAT choice!! I’m just as excited as you about this, because of the Latina heroine! But I also like that Briggs is venturing into the YA genre. I always love it when authors who write NA or adult books start writing YA. Kresley Cole is one that comes to mind. I do read NA and adult books, but MUCH prefer YA, so thanks for the heads up!! Hope you enjoy this one!! : )

You’ve read Briggs before? What sort of an author is she??

I love time travel, and I love diversity in my books, so I’m adding this to my own TBR! Thanks for sharing :)
