#5Books to read 23/08

book blogger book recommendation

Some Patrick Ness, some teens with powers handling profiling, a love story with a bi character, some Chuck Wendig and some Australian crime. Mixed bag yeah?

The Rest of us just live here by Patrick Ness: What if you weren’t the Chosen One? Since reading Hero at the End of the World, I am ALL OVER THIS.

All in by Jennifer Lynn Barnes: I blame Criminal Minds for my fascination with profilers and the desire to see how it’s handled in a YA context. How to make teens as focused as a profiler needs to be and still make them kids is my question.

Cut both ways by Carrie Mesrobian: a love story with a main character who happens to be bi. Loving the diversity I’m finding these days!

Zer0es by Chuck Wendig: which has the same exact name as this book over here. And come to think of it, pretty similar plots. Oh dear. Contrasting these should be fun though. That said, I’ve been wanting to start Wendig’s Miriam Black series for a bit, and now I find this one… decisions, decisions!

Eden by Candice Fox: I woke up this morning to the news that Candice Fox’s Eden, the second in her Eden and Archer series had won Best Fiction at the Ned Kelly Awards! These awards are given out to the best crime novels and she won! The first in her series won a Neddie last year too. And, she did an interview with me earlier this month!

What gems did you find this week?!
