Musing Mondays 16: What did I do this week?

musingmondays51

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer:

  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…

This past week I blogged about:

  • #LoveOzLit: my project with Australian authors of every genre: I have emailed a growing list of Australian authors to ask them to be part of this — basically, I will send them out a question every couple of weeks, and (hopefully) get back something I can make into a quote I can post on my blog, Twitter and instagram. So far it’s going great, with YA authors, crime authors and children’s authors. I am sooo excited about this because it’s such a good way to get people talking about Oz lit: so! If you would like an Oz author added to my list, please let me know!
  • THEN. A new Sandman Slim is out tomorrow and SOBS I am still one book behind in reading the series! This is my review of Kill City Blues: I love this series. It’s no holds barred snark, grittiness and blood, but it’s so good.
  • #5Books: is my other project. Sort of. I get so many good recs from book bloggers for books, but I always lose track of them, so I started making a list to post every week. And then it became more than just books: all things literary to be honest. Thus far it’s Tumblrs and articles as well.

THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: Have you ever made a new friend because of a book? (or books)?

Not yet, but I hope to :)

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your answer in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks! 😀

Thank you, Alberta, and please do! I’d love to see any recs you find — I’m always trying to figure out how to expand the books/genres I read! I might go ahead and follow you across your social media now for when you try it!

#5Books is an awesome idea! Mind if I try it too?

Thanks Cate — and yes of course, I’d love it if you give #5books a go. Was just commenting above that it’d be great to expand my reading horizons more by seeing different bloggers’ recs under the tag!(PS followed on insta)

#5 is a great page. Lists always help. And then getting them all together in one place helps more.

    • Verushka says:

Oh snap, Malvika, I JUST now posted on your Musings! And, thank you! I kept losing track of all these great recs from other bloggers, until I had the idea for #5Books.
