Awhile ago I found my way to #LoveOzYA tag on Twitter and began to realise just how much Oz authors tend to get swallowed by bestsellers from the US or UK. Given the difference in population sizes, it’s a given. But, the people tweeting on the #loveOzYA tag are driving conversation about Australian YA, bringing author names to the attention of readers. And that’s how I got the idea for #LoveOzLit project: it’s a collection of Australian authors from different genres who’ve generously given their time to be part of this project by answering questions about Australian literature, writing and reading.
