Monday Musings #15

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer:

  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…

This past week I’ve been thinking about heels — specifically Claire Dearing’s heels in Jurassic World. I HATE heels, like with Scully from The Xfiles, her heels were the least most significant thing about the movie — she saved the day! — and yet that’s all people seemed to talk about when it came to the movie.

I also posted two very different reviews: Fast and Loose and Normal. The first is set in Sydney, and about a con man gone kind of, almost straight. And Normal is about a serial killer, and it’s the creepiest book I’ve read in a long time because the main character could be anyone — think the guy down the street you wave to every day on the way to work… and then he falls in love. With a kidnap victim stuck in a cage under his garage no less. Yup.

And to boot! An interview with Nicholas J. Johnson, the author of Fast and Loose.

THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: So, apparently Amazon is now going to pay itsKindle Unlimited & Select authors by pages read. You can read more about this {here}. What do you think of this? Share your thoughts!

On the surface this could be a good thing … but also, this is Amazon. I’ll never take anything on surface value from them.

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your answer in a brief comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks! :D

I do have to question what Amazon does and why. I just want authors to get paid so they keep writing and publishing.
