March New Release Giveaway Hop

There’s a ton of good stuff being released in March and I’m giving away $20 to spend on any one of the books above (as long as The Book Depository ships to you free). If you’d like a kindle version, let me know and I’ll send along a copy to you from Amazon. Both these make it really easy for this to be open to anyone internationally!

Books! Tons of books and lots of choice this month! (And a sad reminder for me at least, I still haven’t read Sally Green’s Half Bad and her new one is out already!!)

Unfortunately Rafflecopter widget isn’t embedding for some reason so, I have a healthy alternative link HERE.

And for the next stop on the blog hop, check out the link list here, because I cannot for the life of my figure out why it’s not working on my blog. Sighs.

Oooh, an editor! I have to ask (because I’ve hit it too many times lately), but do you get driven nuts by books with tons of mistakes? I have this compulsive need to finish everything I start reading, which usually works out okay. Some books get better if you stick it out, or keep on with the series. I swear, though, this one had problems in almost every paragraph…in each of the 6 books I read! It ruins it for me when there are lots of silly mistakes and makes me so sad. Anyway, figured I ask since I’m assuming my FB friends all think I’m nuts when I start complaining on there about whatever book I’ve picked up!

    • Verushka says:

You’re not nuts! It’s spelling that gets me, wrong word choice that just kicks me out of a story. Sometimes I persevere, other times I ditch a book. I can’t imagine how you made it through 6 books of a series like that — it must have been a good series on some level?

      • Sarah M says:

Homophones. Those errors are so frustrating to hit. And when people make silly errors over and over again that you *know* were hammered into them in school growing up. *shakes head* I get that authors are storytellers, but, unfortunately, written stories aren’t as forgiving as oral ones.

And I have zero clue how I got through the books. There’s a seventh out, but I refrained from buying it… The earlier books were all from my library; I would’ve never paid for the headaches they were. I liked the basic idea of the series and kept hoping it’d get better… Between the spelling and grammar errors and inconsistencies, I should’ve stopped long before I did. I mean, all of a sudden a character would have some new power that could’ve made an earlier part of the story simple to handle. Or, they’d lose their main weakness after having it repeatedly mentioned beforehand. Or, the bipolar nature of pretty much everyone. I half think that she’s going to end it by saying the girl was on drugs the whole time. You know, pull a Buffy where she turns out to be insane or something and just imagined the whole thing. If I see the books in the library I’ll maybe pick them up, but I kinda hope the library’s learned to not buy those books. Pretty sure they shouldn’t be showing books with so many errors to people. They’re bad examples for the target age group, unless you’re using them as a learning experience and proofreading for an assignment!

        • Verushka says:

How on earth did this series even get published? How did these get past the editor for 6 books???

The rest of it UGH, just turns me off a book so quickly. If an author is living and breathing these characters, they should know them and at the very least what they have planned for them over a series. You my dear are a true reader to have gone through all that. Nods.
