Archie’s had a busy year — for one, he’s been killed off. Kind of a big deal to bounce back from. And now a relaunch.
When I was a kid, I used to visit a cousin of mine and steal his Archie comics to read. He wouldn’t share, rightly so, I was a kid, and he bought those comics on his own. I loved Betty, envied Veronica and wanted to smack Archie and hug him at the same time. But they were timeless, I thought. I can’t quite see the warmth and fun of the old comics in the art below.
Sometimes, edgy just doesn’t do it for me, it seems.
