The Sleeper and the Spindle is Neil Gaiman’s spin on Sleeping Beauty, first published as part of Rags and Bones: New Twists on Timeless Tales. However, Bloomsbury is due to release the tale as a book October 23.
From the pic, you’ll see it involves a woman, a Queen in fact, kissing you guessed it, a Sleeping Beauty — like he did for the Snow White, Blood Red series back in the late 90s, Gaiman has put his own twist on this fairytale. In his hands it becomes the tale of a queen who leaves her kingdom on the eve of her marriage to rescue a princess who has fallen into a deep slumber because of a spell.
