Book Bonus: Getting kids reading and getting books into schools: so yes, you’re going to want to support this

Book Bonus Charity

Let’s dive right into the question on the tip of your tongue: what one earth is Book Bonus?

It’s the online readathon run by Dymocks Charities for NSW students.

Now on to the nitty gritty…

This is what you really need to know: Book Bonus is going to help you to get your kids reading, get their competitive spirit out and best of all, get them helping their schools and schools in need, and realising the importance of reading.

I know, I know, it’s a whole heap of things but it comes down to this:

  • Sign your kid up to read  as many books as possible through the length of the campaign to 7 September 2018. This gives them a chance to win books for themselves because Book Bonus works with the NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge

OR

  • Get their school involved and get it signed up!

All kids then get to be as cute as possible getting everyone they know and you know to sponsor them and their reading goals until September.

What happens at the end of the challenge?

Dymocks Charities is going to match the total total raised by each student, plus a bonus 25% to go towards new books of choice from an extensive list. So, for every $1 raised that’s $1.25 worth of new books for your school.

AND

Dymocks Children’s Charities will also award an additional 25% of the amount raised to schools in need so they can also select new books for their students.

So, get your kids reading!!

Book Bonus runs from 5 March 2018 to 7 September 2018.

I used to love the readathons when I was in primary school, every year the MS Readathon would come around and it felt like such an achievement to be able to donate money. What a brilliant program, I didn’t know Dymocks had a charity organisation either. This would be amazing as a nationwide event and linked to the premier awards in each respective state. Will definitely be checking them out to see if they host similar programs for Victorian students, thank you so much for sharing Verushka darling <3 <3

It genuinely looks like soooo much fun, Kelly! I’ve never participated in one like this, so I was pretty excited when I saw it. Ohhh, yes! A Nationwide event sounds epic! Imagine all the books Dymocks would have to give away! I hope you find one Kelly!!
