#LoveOzLit: Pamela Hart on Revisions being… fun?

#LoveOzLit: Pamela Hart shares how revisions can be ... fun

Revise, revise, revise

Revisions are damn scary. I don’t know about other editors, but I am just a little bit anxious before I start editing  because I know how hard I have to work to ensure an author trusts me and I am always on the look out for that point when things do click. And I have worked with authors who feel the same way … it’s a big deal! LOL!

Which is why I enjoyed Pamela Hart’s quote this week about revisions: that’s looking on the positive side of things, isn’t it? I mean FUN!

Which, I know seems like a simple thing, but it can absolutely going to be wrenching putting your work in someone else’s hands.

What do you think about Pamela Hart’s quote on revisions?

I’m not an editor, but I’m a graphic designer & video editor, and I can assure you anxiety kicks in for me as well. Truth is, when we love our job, we all fall under an even greater pressure because we want to genuinely help our clients, deliver a high quality work and yes, build a trusting relationship. But that’s also part of the fun, isn’t it? I immensely enjoy what I do and yes, I look forward to the satisfying part that is guaranteed to put a smile on my face! 🙂

Nicely put, Silvia! I could not agree more with what you said about enjoying our work and wanting to help clients. It is totally fun, working with an author and finding out ways to make the book better until we get to that point when the author goes: YES. This works! Wohoo!
