Waiting on Wednesday: The Heart of Henry Quantum

Can't wait Wednesday- What are book bloggers looking forward to reading next-

Every week over at Breaking the Spine, bloggers post the titles they’re looking forward to. This week my choice is: The Heart of Henry Quantum

The Heart of Henry Quantum

Blurb: Henry Quantum has several thoughts going through his head at any given time, so it’s no surprise when he forgets something very important — a Christmas gift for his wife, Margaret, which he realises on the morning of December 23rd.

So Henry sets off in search of the perfect present for Margaret: a bottle of Chanel No. 5.

But much like Henry’s ever-wandering mind, his quest takes him in different and unexpected directions, including running into the former love of his life, Daisy. Meanwhile, Margaret is questioning whether she and Henry belong together after all …

The Heart of Henry Quantum is a sweet, funny, and touching debut which shows how the seemingly insignificant events of one single day can change our lives forever — perhaps, if we’re lucky, for the better.

Here’s what I’m wondering: why have Henry and Margaret broken apart? Why did Henry and Daisy break apart? I don’t know why, but I am also reminded a little of Sliding Doors, without the alternate timelines, but more in the sense of there being one moment that changes everything.

What do you think of The Heart of Henry Quantum?

I liked Sliding Doors back in the day so, if this one reminds you of that, I don’t see a problem with it. 😉 Sounds good, hope it’s going to be even better once it’s in your hands and you’re all caught up in the read!

Thanks for sharing, here’s my WoW 🙂

  • I’m looking to put some books together Christmas related themes the month of December and this seems like it will be a good one to add. I don’t get into extremely sappy books much, but this doesn’t sound like that at all. I am also curious to learn what happened between Henry and Daisy. Thanks for pointing this one out!

I’m with you. That blurb has so many questions running through my mind already that I’m definitely going to have to pick this up when it comes out. I do love the idea that one small thing like running out to pick up a last minute gift could have a life-changing ripple effect.

I’m curious to see how he goes from going out to get a gift to everything else that happens. I usually don’t read anything that sounds Christmas-y, but this one does have me intrigued.
